I just stumbled on the East Bay Bike Party!
Later last night, we stumbled upon them again, after dark, and they had a dance party complete with flashing bike-lights. It was pretty awesome.
Someone’s been stealing Ella’s toys.
The federal government now has some sort of online tax filing system … that shoddily requires Microsoft Silverlight, which they don’t make for my computer, so I guess I send them paper forms, even though they encourage me strongly to e-file somehow. Why do they shoot themselves in the foot like this? It is not hard to make web forms that don’t require obscure closed technology.
On the other hand, California has a delightfully simple online, secure, HTML-only tax submission system. It’s not Web 2.0, but it does exactly what I want. It’s so wonderful!
Yes, apparently I work at the end of the rainbow.
My body statistics are better and worse. My weight is up over 180lb, but that’s with my clothes & shoes on. My body fat percentage is apparently a little up, but it’s probably within measurement error. The doctor was satisfied with my level of health.
Measurements are in mg/dL:

Reposted from Slashdot: The FCC has approved the merger between Comcast and NBC.
My prediction: Netflix, Hulu, and Google TV won’t be distributing any more video from NBC or Universal Studios (owned by NBC). They’ll be for Comcast subscribers only, and streaming other video services on Comcast will become more and more blocked.
There is a lot of reason to want data connection services and media companies to be separate. I’m not sure why the FCC doesn’t see that.
In other news: I’d like to show my respect for Michael J. Copps, the FCC Commissioner who was good and smart enough to vote against the Comcast/NBC merger.
